Running the houseful shows of Mamma Mia


Catch the classic sunny funny London musical, Mamma Mia! at the magnificent Novello Theatre! Novello Theatre can be commuted viatubes, buses, taxis and cars. The nearest station to the theatre is Covent Garden on the Piccadilly line, whereas Charing Cross mainline train station is also within walking distance, and can be accessed on the Northern or Bakerloo lines. You can board bus numbers 1, 4, 11, 13, 15, 68 and 98 all stop near the theatre. You may hire a taxi or a car as the  nearest NCP car park is at Drury Lane/Parker Street.

On the eve of her wedding, the show depicts how they re-live their past events.

The story of Mamma Mia is set in sun-soaked Greece and Sophie is busy in her pre-wedding preparations with Sky. Her mother Donna is also busy preparing her guest house for the wedding. However, Sophie is thinking about something else. She wants to know the identity of her real father and her going through her month’s diary, she invited three possible suspects from Donna’s past. All of three men from her mother’s past arrive on her wedding eve and also the fun begins. The show features some great musical numbers such as Does Your Mother Know, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, Take A Chance On Me, Super Trouper, The Winner Takes It All and, of course, the title song Mamma Mia!.

Under the superb direction of Phyllida Lloyd, known for The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie at the National Theatre, the show is a must watch. The spectacular production of Judy Craymer and Richard East makes the show a memorable musical journey.

The hugely successful show has a musical version released in 2008 featuring Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard and Julie Walters. The movie was written, directed and produced by the same creative team.
